NATURBIKE has been running cycling and walking holidays in small groups since 1997. As a local, Barcelona based agency, we are able to offer tours that are designed to get you closer to local people, cultures and landscapes. As well as being Barcelona and Catalonia specialists, we also run many other tours throughout Spain, Morocco, Cuba and South East Asia.

BARCELONA BY BIKE was developed to offer an exciting and sustainable alternative to the more conventional Barcelona sight-seeing tours. We aim to show off Barcelona, a city that we both know and love, in an exciting as well as an active way – away from the crowds on the tourist busses or the metro. We want to bring you closer to the real Barcelona from the perspective of a cyclist.

BARCELONA BY BIKE evolved after the growing popularity of bicycle use in the city was recognized by the local administration; thus more than 120km of cycle lanes have been built in the recent years. The major cultural event "Forum 2004" gave this development a huge push when principles of sustainable urban development were discussed, the use of an alternative means of transport being one of them. Already host to a great network of cycle lanes, Barcelona will eventually have a network spanning more than 200km, converting the city into a Mediterranean haven for cyclists.

Sharing this wonderful way of moving around in town with visitors was an all too obvious thought – thus BARCELONA BY BIKE was born in 2005!
